Our Time in Bali - Day Four (8/2/13)

Hey There!

Today was a "Free and Easy" day. We decided continue our exploration of Bali at 1:00PM. So, at 1:00PM, we hopped into a car and set off to our first and most important destination: Some place to eat LUNCH.

1:30PM - Lunch

Lunch was pretty simple, I had a plate of Mee Goreng. But my grandma decided to order economical rice and chicken, and boy, did it look delicious. Here are the pics:

Yummy :)

Delicious ^.^

2:30PM - Ulu Watu

Ulu Watu is a temple by the cliffs. The view was really beautiful. The cliffs, the sea, and the clear blue sky! Ah..., the perfect combo. :)

I'm lovin' this! <3

The sea goes on... forever :)

The only problem during that exploration was… (dum dum dum dum...) the dreaded MONKEYS… Noel had such an adventure, Noel, it's all yours:

HI GUYS,

This is Noel. Let me tell you my scary experience with the monkeys...

It was a bright and sunny day, I was walking into the temple with my family. We were warned to look out for the monkeys, but I thought that monkeys wouldn't attack a random-looking dude like me, so I didn't care.

I slowed down to inspect some monkeys who were sitting around munching fruits when all of a sudden, I felt blind; everything went blur. I spun around only to see a monkey make of with something in its hand. I don't know why, but my proclivities of "manly" [inverted commas inserted by editor] self-denfense kicked in and my legs decided run forward and away from that disgusting monkey.

According to my siblings and grandma, the monkey was chewing on my specs, which is rather gross, if you ask me. To cut the long story short, a "professional stolen-by-monkey-stuff retriver dude-guy" appeared at the scene and retrieved my glasses. Thankfully, I got my (chewed up) spectacles back.

P.S. - I didn't have a place to wash my specs at that time, so I had to wear my spare "levitating" specs... Here's a pic:

Trust me, I did not use any strings or magnets or the like...

This is Noel Lim, thanks for tuning in,  I mean, reading. :P

3:30PM - Shopping

We stopped by at a souvenir shop to look at some stuff. Nothing exciting happened...

4:30PM - Jimburan

Jimburan is a beach famous for its sunsets. We had lots of time to kill so we took tons of pictures. Here they are:

Ain't that purty?

Setting sun + Crashing waves + Noel = 100% coolness

Now, time for the sunnset photos:

Well, that’s all for today.

Have a GREAT day!!!

WE WENT WHITE WATER RAFTING!!!!

We had a crazy fun time. The car ride there was around one and a half hours long (>.<), but that didn't dampen our spirits. When we arrived, we collected our helmets, life vests, and paddles, and slathered on a generous amount of sunscreen. Getting to the raft wasn’t easy; we had to hike down to the river. And man, that took FOREVER… but it was shaded so we were still relatively alive…

Three siblings so looking forward to rafting!!!!

Down, down, down, down, down we went...

The journey down the river was fun. Nerille was badly freaked out by the freezing cold water, huge and slippery rocks, and…. a whole raft of screaming family members… okay, maybe not the last one. :P But after an hour, he began to loosen up and have fun, yay. ;)

*** Sorry, no pictures of us rafting cos we love our camera too much to let it get wet… :P ***

After that, we had lunch and came back to the villa. The rest of the day was relatively uneventful…

Okie, that’s all for DAY 3!

Have a great day!

Our Time In Bali - Day Two (6/2/13)

Hey There!

So sorry for not posting anything yesterday :P… I was too tired and here’s why...

7:00AM – Wake up and breakfast

I woke up and heard a strange sound… it sounded like sizzling. I was like, “Huh? Wad’s going on?” Then I peeked out and saw something I thought was reeeeaalllllyy cool. There were people cooking for us!!! The staffs from the villa were cooking breakfast for us. Wow!!! It’s almost as if were royalty! :D
WOAH!!! ^^

Ahh... a meal fit for a Queen. :D

11:30 AM – Terrace Padi Field

After a crazy long car/van ride, we finally arrived at our destination: the Terrace Padi Field.

AMAZING, that one word says it all, amazing… ^^

12:00 PM – Coffee and spice plantation

The Coffee and spice plantation was located half way up a mountain, so the air up there was pretty cold. The plantation wasn’t exactly a plantation, it was more like a garden, a really messy garden… :P

The teas and coffees:
Lemon Tea     Ginger Tea
Ginseng Coffee        Chocolate Coffee
Vanilla Coffee    Ginger Coffee
Hot Chocolate      Bali Coffee

We got to try eight different kinds of coffee and tea. I absolutely loved the lemon tea <3!

12:45 PM – The Volcano

After that was lunch, right next to an active volcano!!!! The restaurant was pretty high up another mountain-ish hill (as in, the mountain we were on was HUGE, but not big and tall enough to be a proper mountain with snowy caps and all that, ya get wad I mean?)

Wow, what a view! :)

Food was buffet style. ^^

2:00 PM – ‘Holy’ Water Temple

Next, we visited a Hindu temple, called ‘Holy’ Water Temple. The reason for that name was because it had a natural underground spring that ran through the temple. One of the temple rules was no pants shorter than knee length was allowed into the temple. Bad news, my dad was wearing bermudas and they were a little above his knees. Did they send him out? Of course not! They came up with a brilliant idea. This:
Swag with a Sarong (lol)

Alrighty, folks. That’s all for DAY 2!

Hope You Have A Great Day!
